Guitar Parts!

Late final year I motionless I wish to do something Van Halen “Frankenstrat” desirous with my old white Strat.. So I not long ago paid for a garland of parts, and the final of them arrived final week! :)

I’ll be watchful until after in the Spring to paint it, but in the meant time I paid for a Carvin pickup which resembles an old Gibson PAF (but 13.6k Ω, Eddie wouldn’t have used a high outlay similar to this), a little black cosmetic tools and electronics, and a transparent plexiglass pickguard routed for H-S-S.

One thing I am you do otherwise is which I will have a overpass pickup curl splitter switch where the volume routinely goes, afterwards only one volume and tinge in the subsequent dual holes. In humbucking mode the switch will be down, so palm muting won’t disaster with it (or the damn volume!). This should be cool.

It isn’t gonna be a finish replica, only “inspired by” Eddie’s old guitar. I still fool around a little blues, so I wish functioning center and neck singular curl pickups. And I suspicion the transparent ensure would let some-more of the red/white/black striped paint pursuit show by once I finish portrayal it. :)

Turns out not all the Squire Deluxe screw holes don’t match up on the new pickguard, d’oh. So I think I’m going to send the guy my old white pickguard to work from, and this time specify a smaller “volume” hole, where the bridge pickup coil splitter switch will go and 2 pickup mounting holes (instead of the 1) for the top of the bridge humbucker.

Then sometime this spring or summer the EVH “Frankenstrat” paint job will happen if all goes well.. We’ll see. :)

The RAT is the bass fuzz, isn’t it? :)

  6. Terekhova says:

The RAT in the picture (a RAT2) is sold as a guitar effect but works great for a bass.

Not quite, it’s most often described more of an overloaded, grinding noise. It’s mostly on purpose though. Thanks anyway :)
